This impressive 17th century villa has been lovingly restored to create a magnificent country home, steeped in history and serenely located above the Tuscan hills. The main home features 5 bedrooms and there is an adjacent medieval farmhouse offering an additional 4 bedrooms.
Enjoy a 10 minute drive climbing high above the charming village of Gugliano, past olive groves and a tiny hamlet. Reaching the villa you immediately feel the sense of peace and seclusion and take in the splendid views.
The estate is set in 17 hectares of beautiful landscaped gardens, olive terraces and natural landscape. Highlights include an artists' studio, fabulous swimming pool and private chapel. This is a place for lovers of art, authentic history, miles of mesmerising views, peace and seclusion.
The main villa has a wonderfully cool interior with high ceilings, large windows and impressive doors allowing the sunshine in. Families are welcome and children well provided for. Comfortably charming, historic furnishings and fittings blend with the harmonious feel to the interiors.
On the ground floor, you will find the kitchen, utility room and a billiard and games room. The second floor features the drawing room and gallery. The Master suite is on this floor with double bedroom and en-suite shower room. The second floor has the 4 double guest bedrooms, all with en-suite bathroom. Each bedroom is individually designed and furnished with comfortable beds and linens and enchanting art and antique pieces throughout.
A terracotta-tiled terrace, lined with lemon trees, leads onto a shaded pergola with a large travertine table and iron chairs. Throughout summer, this area is a simply wonderful outdoor living and dining room. A charcoal barbecue makes outdoor cooking simple, and there is a wood-burning, traditional pizza oven by the farmhouse. An evening of pizza-making is great fun for all ages. The swimming pool, with shallow end and Roman steps, is set just below the villa on a separate, deep terrace. Sheltered and with all-day sun, it has sweeping views of the valley. A second pergola provides a covered seating area.
The farmhouse on the property acts firstly as a home for the owners when the main villa is rented (it is completely separate and private). Secondly, the farmhouse can be rented in addition to the main villa for extra accommodation for larger groups. Up to 8 guests can be accommodated in the farmhouse. There is a double room on the ground floor. On the second floor there are 2 further double bedrooms and 2 singles (that share a bathroom). The farmhouse offers a lovely open plan kitchen/dining room and separate drawing room.
