Mas Moli Petit is located in the heart of rural Catalunya. Originally a working mill built on the banks of the River Manol. The mill was used to press the olives picked from the neighbouring fields. These were used to make olive oil. Making olive oil ceased in the mid 20^th Century.

During the 1980s the country estate was meticulously restored. It was extended by the previous owners using local masonry, timbers and other original materials. These were combined with superb interior features. The property was designed to keep the character and authenticity of the original mill.

Current family owners of Mas Moli Petit continue to add their personal touches. There are antique chandeliers and Persian rugs. A 5 metre rustic English oak dining table as well as modern appliances ensures guests that stay have a wonderful experience. Once you stay here you will want to come back.

A Roman settlement remains are barely 50 metres from the house. These are currently being excavated. It is interesting to visit when the site is open.

Mas Moli Petit is the smaller of the two. It is not so small at all ! This delightful country house was opened for rentals in 2018. It is one of the most beautiful properties in the area.

Mas Moli Petit  can sleep up to 18 people. There are 8 bedrooms with 7 bathrooms. Each room is special and has been individually designed. Each room features quality furnishings, pleasing décor and remote-controlled air conditioning. Many of the rooms have great views and selected lighting. All bedrooms except one (Manol) have en-suite bath/ shower and WC. Hair dryers are provided in all rooms.
Two bedrooms are located separately from the main house in the beautiful Garden House. This enjoys stunning views across the garden. It is a favourite for families and younger children.

Bedrooms at Mas Moli Petit :
Tramuntana Bedroom - Extensive master bedroom occupying the whole of the top floor (over 120 square metres). Huge double bed, sofa/ sitting area, fridge, TV, desk, separate dressing room, jacuzzi bath and shower. Air conditioning in both the bedroom and dressing room. There are opening windows on both sides of the bedroom allowing the breeze to pass through when the Tramontana wind blows. This room also enjoys panoramic views towards the lake, the river, pool and terrace.

Bansky Bedroom - Large double room ( can convert to twin beds) beds. These have electronic controls to raise the upper part into a reading position. There is an en suite shower and WC, TV, access to roof terrace, built in wardrobes and windows on 3 sides. This allows maximum great natural light. Views to the riverside, the pool and out on to the private terrace.

Manol Bedroom - double room with direct access to roof terrace. Views out to the private terrace. Shares a bathroom with one of the neighbouring bedrooms or use the extensive bathroom facilities of Tramontana bedrooms and use the downstairs WC.

Mercedes Bedroom - quirky double room. Access to roof terrace, en-suite shower and WC. This features hand painted ceramic tiling. Air conditioning, TV and views out to the private terrace.

Gotham Bedroom - spacious double room with double aspect views at the end of the house. Large en suite shower and WC. Air conditioning and opening windows on two sides with mosquitos guards. Extensive built in wardrobes. TV and views to the lake and towards the vine and wisteria covered walkway that leads to the Garden House.

Cadaqués Bedroom in the Garden House - larger of the two rooms in the Garden House. It is 20 metres from the main house accessed via a beautiful pebbled path under a covered walkway adorned with cacti, vines and wisteria.

Large double room which includes 2 fold down bunks useful if younger children are staying.

En-suite shower and WC and private terrace next to a lemon tree. Air conditioning. Extensive wardrobe and storage. Views towards the river with an abundance of poplar trees.

Port LLigat in the Garden House - second room in the Garden House accessed via a beautiful path adorned with vines and cacti. It has been designed as a family room with 4 fold down bunk beds, en suite shower and WC, TV. It would work well for teenagers and younger children or single adults, it connects to the Cadaquez bedroom through a sliding door. Enjoys views towards the river with an abundance of poplar trees.

The Cottage - free standing, ground floor apartment recently refurbished. This offers a ouble bedroom, kitchen, dining area, lounge and bathroom with WC. During the high season, this is only available by special arrangement at a supplemental charge. There is a TV, AC, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, coffee machine, oven, hob. The Cottage can be useful for guests with some mobility constraints as it is at ground level. However it is not suitable for wheelchair access. Some guests use the cottage for nannies and domestic staff . Please ask for more details

For further enjoyment at Mas Moli Petit there is a Home Cinema, Pool/ Billiards, well equipped gym and bar. Outdoors within the extensive, private gardens is a swimming pool. There is also a tennis court (with floodlights), table tennis and childrens’ playground. Dining options include covered outdoor eating area, outdoor kitchen and barbecue. There is Fast Wi-Fi in all bedrooms, most common areas, pool and outdoor dining area.
An underground Bodega is available for wine tasting events.
For guests who wish to arrive in style, there is a Heli-pad set amidst the secure, secluded 2+ hectare estate which is fully fenced.

On site activities for all -
Tennis court on site an all weather court with an artificial grass surface and floodlights for night time play. There are places for others to match the players either from above or on the “Wimbledon green” chairs at the sides.
Football – there are football goals at either end the tennis net and posts can be removed so the court doubles as a 5 a side pitch.
Single basketball net for practicing your slam dunk
A selection of some mid-level rackets and balls and footballs are available to guests, but we suggest the serious players bring your own.

Swimming pool - oval shaped private pool taking centre stage, especially in the summer months. It blends wonderfully into the stonework on which the country estate was built. The shallow end has a “ beach style ” entrance for easy access. This is ideal for the younger visitors and is big enough for the keen swimmers too. 

Around the pool there is a variety of loungers, outdoor sofas, benches and chairs. Catch up with a snooze in one of the hammocks positioned in the shade of the Mulberry trees. The pool is cleaned every day by an underwater robot known affectionately as “Roberto“.

The pool has a salt-additive system which avoids the pool smelling and tasting of chlorine. This helps to avoid those nasty chlorine rashes. The pool has LED lighting which makes it popular after dark.

Spa room - Next to the pool is a changing room with shower and two WCs. This also doubles as a space for massage and treatments. These need to be arranged in advance of your arrival.

Outdoor dining, the gardens and play area -
One of the most popular spots to dine is the long outdoor table which will easily seat everyone. It has seated over 30 people before ! The outdoor kitchen is well equipped with fridge, freezer, barbecue, paella stove, microwave and dishwasher. 

Guests enjoy a lot of their holiday time chatting together here after meals. Maybe first play garden croquet or take a walk around the 2 hectare gardens. Alternatively, walk around the orchard of fruit trees and the ornamental lake. As the house is next to the river, the area is a micro climate. There is an abundance of flora and fauna and wildlife of many sorts.

The children’s playground on the lawn above the river is shaded by the mature pine trees and baby oaks. The “vintage” style of the playground we strongly recommend that children should be supervised at all times.          

Indoors – When the evenings become cooler or in the cooler months, the indoor areas of Mas Moli Petit provide a perfect area to relax and unwind. The living room is home to a 1920s baby grand piano and an impressive selection of books in English and Spanish. There is also a full selection of board games and a roaring open fire for those winter evenings. The Marble Bar is adjacent to the pool and billiards area where the fun begins in the early evening.  The dining room features a Royal Oak dining table to seat up to 18. The kitchen can cater for a professional chef. It is equipped with electric and gas hob, plancha and double oven. There is also a steam cooker and Miele integrated coffee machine.

Home Cinema - 3 metre wide screen, Epsom ceiling-mounted projector and sophisticated sound system. This connects to Netflix, Amazon and other services (which you can utilise using your own subscription). There are also over 200 DVDs with many classics in English, Spanish and French. The Cinema will seat up to 18 on comfy sofas, vintage armchairs and cosy beanbags.

Gym - recently refurbished and re-kitted. It includes a multi gym with state of the art weights, pullies and over 25 different exercise routines. There is an elliptical cross trainer and a brand new Peleton bike. There is also a punchbag, TRX and other equipment. The gym has padded floor throughout and a mirrored wall.

Bodega - Wine Cellar provides an amazing environment for a wine tasting evening (by prior arrangement only). 

The location of Mas Moli Petit is idyllic. It sits alongside the River Manol and is surrounded by beautiful countryside. It is in sight of the Pyrenees and only 20 minutes from the coast.

Pets – please seek agreement. Well behaved dogs may be allowed subject to agreed terms.

What can you do nearby Mas Moli Petit

Golf - There are multiple superb golf courses nearby. These include the world class PGA Catalunya (consistently rated as the No.1 golf resort in Spain and only 30 minutes away).

Polo - 5 minutes away from Club de Polo Ampurdan. During the High Season there are tournaments most weekends (usually 0-4 goals) and chukkas during the week.

Horse riding lessons, excursions/ hacking in the fabulous countryside across rivers and up in the hills can be arranged.

Cycling - Girona is a mecca for serious cyclists because of the mountainous terrain, sea views and sunny weather. Nearer home, we have an abundance of mountain paths and dry river rides through the forest. There are also some scenic road tours. Basic mountain bike rentals available.

Hiking – Being located at the foot of the Pyrenees there are many options for some trekking in the mountains. There are also treks in the forest and on the famous coastal walks.

Beaches and coastline- choose from many of which are only 25 minutes away such as Cadaques, Sant Marti or Cap de Creus

Boat Charters - spend a day than to be out on a boat, some snorkelling and a fabulous lunch in one of the coves (calitas) or beachfront restaurants in Cadaques

Vineyards - vineyards on our doorstep producing red, white and rose. Many of the producers are happy to organise tours of the vineyards and wine tasting. By prior arrangement they will also organise a private tasting in our own Bodega. Some of the best known vineyards in the area are Perelada, Masia Serra, Martin Faixo website.

Dining Out - many superb restaurants in the area to list them all ,including La Tartana which is a 20 minute walk along the river bank.

Cultural experiences - within 20 minutes drive. These include the Dali Museum, Figueres, Sant Ferran fort – Greek and Roman Ruins in Empuria

Mas Moli Petit is very environmentally friendly and sustainable. Electricity (and more) is generated from solar panels and lighting is mainly LED.

Water is pumped from the natural springs deep below the property (only one bathroom has a bath). This is filtered and used for drinking as well as the pool and for the irrigation system.

The small lake in front of the house is buzzing with wildlife. More recently an otter has taken up. The staff try to food source locally and seasonally. On site there is an abundance of fruit trees (apples, pomegranate, lemons, nisperos, figs, plums, apricots, almonds, grapes and of course many olives). There are many wild plants such as asparagus, strawberries, rosemary and wild garlic.

In their small market garden they grow lettuces, tomatoes, onions, chilies and other vegetables according to the season.

Eco-friendly cleaning products are used plus refillable units of eco-friendly shampoo, conditioner and bodywash in each bathroom and public areas for guests use during their stay. To reduce plastic use, the staff do not buy bottled waters.  Filtered water is available in the kitchen. There is also a SodaStream carbonator to enable sparkling water to be made in-house. There are many other procedures and methods used to focus on keeping the environment safe.
