Villa Michaela, Italy is a magnifient, 18th century private estate, set within the historic village of Vorno (close to Lucca) behind its own private walls but very much part of village life which has remained the same for centuries. From Villa Michaela in Italy , there are wonderful views to be enjoyed of the surrounding hills, forests, olive groves and the Alpe Apuane, sometimes snowcapped in the winter. The extensive grounds include a floodlit tennis court, a large swimming pool and various al fresco dining areas.

Villa Michaela has 10 double bedrooms. Each room is uniquely decorated in a mix of Tuscan and British interior design. All bedrooms but two in Villa Michaela are en suite (which share a bathroom on the landing below). There are also several additional reception rooms with a grand piano, chess, backgammon, bridge and much more on offer. Children are most welcome and Villa Michaela is perfect for celebrating special occasions surrounded by your closest family and friends of all generations.

There is a 12 metre swimming pool with separate children’s pool, outside dining area, tennis court, central heating, air conditioning, cable TV and an American pool table.

The house is luxuriously furnished in the style of an English country house. All bathrooms have showers and the main bedroom, Dante, has a double jacuzzi bath with spectacular views of the sunsets over Vorno church.

The main dining room with its impressive frescoes and chandeliers can seat 36 to 80 and is perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding parties, family re-unions, film shoots and product launches.

An American pool table, ping pong and a cinema / party room in the ‘sound proof’ basement is perfect for late night or early morning festivities. There are not many places in Italy where you can continue to play music into the night!

The on-site villa management team have for years looked after the guests of Villa Michaela and have also assisted with many important weddings and corporate events in and around Tuscany, the staff are also able to help guests discover the local markets, restaurants, shoe stores, perfect views and even night spots. The resident chef is a master of the culinary art and has a varied repertoire he is even happy if guests wish to join him in the preparation of dinner either as a spectator or hands-on!

The main villa houses the family dining room as well as the formal dining room, which leads on to the camellia and lemon gardens, a library/communications room and a TV Room. The kitchen is a Tuscan style demonstration kitchen which was originally the floor of the Limonaia where the age old lemon trees of the villa were stored in the winter. It is now used for cooking demonstrations, breakfast and lunch - it is a very light sunny room and wonderful in winter or summer.

The first floor drawing room features a grand piano and feature fireplace, with views over the lemon garden from one end of the room and views of the Alpe Apuane in the distance from the other. 

The latest addition is Casa Una one of the oldest, original farmhouses in the village of Vorno, now fully restored and converted to offer 4 double bedrooms and a triple bedroom. There is also a exquisitely decorated sitting room, dining room seating six people and a kitchen with aga cooker. Outside Casa Una has a private terrace and garden with pizza oven and wonderful views of the Tuscan hills

Villa Michaela is also home to the famous Rhodes School of Cuisine.
