Maddox is located on a desirable beach on the West Coast. It is a dreamy and peaceful historic property.  It is a very special piece of Barbados’s architectural history.  Messel made Maddox his personal home in Barbados after meticulously restoring it in the 1950s. It was designed with Greek columns, large balconies, and local coral stone.  Messel’s exquisite eye for detail is evident around every corner. The property has been lovingly maintained. It sits in lush tropical gardens and offers thoughtful, sophisticated interiors.

The ground floor features captivating and airy rooms. These are perfectly suited for entertaining and enjoying quality time with loved ones.

The gazebo overlooks the sea and offers mesmerizing views. It is the quintessential spot to watch a glorious Caribbean sunset.

The classic poolside bar room is the ideal place for an evening cocktail. A lovely spot to sit before guests make their way into the romantic dining terrace. This has high ceilings and antique wrought iron light fixtures. It features a bespoke twelve-seater coral dining table. After dinner, wind down the evening in the lounge area on the open terrace. Relax here under the spectacular Caribbean sky.

The elegant, spacious living room features a large sectional sofa. It is a comfortable space for watching TV, playing games, or reading. The desk area is the perfect place for those needing to work remotely.

At Maddox water fun for all ages can be had in the expansive pool or the turquoise Caribbean Sea. There is direct access to a secluded beach for a morning or afternoon dip.

Seven en suite bedrooms are spread out across three separate buildings. These include the Main House, Guest Cottage 1 and Guest Cottage 2. They offer ample space for a large group of friends or family to both relax and retreat.

The two-storey main house offers four en-suite bedrooms. On the upper floor, the bright and airy Master suite is elegant. It offers high ceilings and wooden floors. It is furnished with antique furniture and a commanding king-sized upholstered bed. Exquisite linen fabrics, and thoughtfully selected accessories create a refined space. French doors open onto a private balcony with breathtaking sea views. The master suite is air-conditioned, with a fan. There is lots of large wardrobe space. The master en suite features marble floors, a double vanity with a marble top and a large shower.

Guest Bedroom 2 is spacious and elegant. It features a beautifully crafted king bed. There are high-quality fabrics and a large ornate dressing mirror. Guest bedroom 2 has wooden floors, air-conditioning and a ceiling fan. There is a recently renovated en suite with a large shower. Guest bedroom 2 shares an expansive balcony with sea views. This is shared with Guest bedrooms 3 and 4.

Guest Bedrooms 3 and 4 can comfortably be used as a family suite. Guest Bedroom 3 features a king bed. There are high-quality bed linens and an en suite with a marble floor vanity and a shower.

Guest Bedroom 4 has wooden mahogany floors, twin beds and an en suite with marble floors. It is fitted with a marble bathtub with a shower. Guest bedrooms 3 and 4 both have air-conditioning and ceiling fans. They share a second north-facing balcony that overlooks the pool. They also share private stairs to access the pool area.

Guest Cottage One is a private retreat featuring garden views. It has high-scratched pickle ceilings and luxurious fabrics. There is a king-sized bed and an en suite with a large walk-in shower. Guest cottage One is air-conditioned.

Nestled in the garden, Guest Cottage Two includes guest bedrooms 6 and 7. Bedroom 6 features a king-sized four-poster mahogany bed. Bedroom 7 also features a king-sized bed and a kitchenette. Bedrooms 6 and 7 both have air conditioning and fans. The bedrooms have en suites with marble floors and spacious showers.

Maddox is located in a prime west coast location on what is known as 'Millionaires' Row'. It is in an area called The Garden. This is a short car ride from championship golf courses, tennis and spas. Holetown which is the hub of the west coast is a short car journey. Here you will find duty free shopping, a medical centre, supermarkets and many bars and restaurants.

Fine dining restaurants and beach bars are a short drive away.
