Having travelled a great deal with a large family we would choose a villa holiday over a hotel any day. 

Here are our reasons for choosing a villa over a hotel.

PRIVACY

We and most of our clients love the privacy of a villa. This is one of the main reasons for choosing a villa over a hotel. If you choose the right villa you may also be offered staff in the rate. This is pretty much the norm in many destinations in the Caribbean. The beauty of a villa is that you have the privacy of a private villa combined often with the services of a hotel.

Often staff will include a housekeeper who will keep on top of the cleaning, possibly a laundress who will deal with your washing and a cook who will prepare breakfast and other meals.

You can choose whether to dine in or out and enjoy all the experiences on offer.

These are all excellent reasons for choosing a villa over a hotel.

PRIVATE POOL

If you rent a villa with a private pool it will be all yours. No sharing. No rules about noise and when the kids can go in the pool. Little children don't need to worry about wearing costumes. It is a wholesome free experience. You can play your own music by your own private pool and enjoy every moment cocktail in hand. This is one of the key reasons for choosing a villa over a hotel.

COST

If you are travelling with a large family or a large group of friends it is usually much more cost effective to stay in a villa than a hotel. For example, if you are a party of 10 you can rent a 5 bedroom villa in a beautiful location for considerably less than the cost of renting 5 rooms in a hotel.

On top of that, you don't need to pay hotel prices for every drink and snack you have. You can drink cocktails and eat and drink all day long in a private villa for considerably less that you would pay in a hotel.

FLEXIBILITY

Eat what you want when you want. Come and go as you please. No worries about leaving the sunbed while you go for a wander. When you return everything will be as you left it.  

Organise your own activities or use the concierge at your villa to arrange them for you. No restrictions on when you can use the pool or when you have to be up for breakfast. Just relax and take charge of your holiday. Another of the very good reasons for choosing a villa over a hotel.

PEACE AND QUIET

Just be with those you wish to be with. No noisy guests on phone calls on the next sunbed. No queues for the buffet. No children belonging to other families disturbing your peace.

SPACE

Villas usually offer considerably more space than even the largest hotel rooms or suites. On top of that you will probably have your own garden, private pool and kitchen facilities. Particularly with families, kitchen facilities are a must.

You will even generally have more storage space for your holiday clothes and other items. You can bring your portable speakers (if there aren't any at the villa) and listen to your own music wherever you like without having to worry about disturbing anyone.

There are generally no dress codes at private villas. Where whatever you like. Dress up for that special occasion or just relax in your swimwear or dressing gown. you can really relax and be comfortable without worrying about the pearing eyes of others.

DON'T WORRY ABOUR STRANGERS

You don't need to worry about whether the kids are safe from strangers. Of course you have to supervise them and watch their safety in the pool but knowing they are confined to your villa and your garden takes away a lot of the stress of looking after the kids.
