Croatia is renowned for its magnificent Adriatic coastline, with a sea of the most magnificent blue-green colouring with crystal clear waters and the views from every angle are quite breathtaking against the backdrop of green hills, mountains and forests. Mesmerising vistas of picturesque islands encircled by pretty harbours, historic villages and towns and the constant sight of a range of sailing boats in all shapes and sizes giving a wonderful sense of peace and unspoilt beauty.

From Istria in the north down to Dubrovnik in the south, you will find so much to do and see throughout this beautiful country and there is something for everyone, from active sports and outdoor pursuits to gentle sailing along the coastline, tranquil coves and pretty beaches for relaxing and swimming.

The islands of Hvar and Brac are amongst the most popular, easily reached by ferry or private boat from the airport at Split. Hvar Island is considered to be the “party” island of Croatia and this is true of the gorgeous town of Hvar with its restaurants, bars and nightclubs, but it also offers a beautiful coastline, historic villages and delightful towns such as Stari Grad and Jelsa and a peaceful landscape to explore including its famed lavender fields. Brac Island is a must for those looking for a more relaxed, close to nature retreat with its idyllic villages, harbour towns such as Bol, stunning white pebble beach of Zlatni Rat (or Golden Horn) and beautiful countryside to explore with vineyards and olive groves.

Croatia is famous for its extraordinary blends of gastronomy from varied regions, it’s olive oil, honey, lavender and fabulous wines. Each region will surprise you for its cuisine, from the Slavic influences mixed with Hungarian, Viennese and Turkish flavours in the meats, desserts and vegetable dishes of the continental regions, to the Greek, Roman and Illyrian Mediterranean flavours of the abundance of fish dishes you will find on the coastal areas.

Dubrovnik is the jewel of all the perfectly preserved old towns of Croatia. The Croatians are proud of and dedicated to maintaining their history and heritage and Dubrovnik is a perfect example of this.
