Montpelier Plantation & Beach, an AAA Four Diamond award recipient and Relais & Châteaux member, is a boutique hideaway in the heart of the Caribbean on the tiny island of Nevis, a former British Colony steeped in history and known for its vibrant natural beauty.

Montpelier Plantation, Nevis, was originally a sugar mill and sits within 60 acres of tropical landscape at the base of the majestic Nevis Peak and is situated six miles from its own private beach – 750 feet above the vibrant Caribbean Sea. It is the ideal hotel in Nevis to unwind and relax

The property's colonial heritage, rugged cobblestone and intricate antiques blend well with the classic contemporary decor of modern artwork and furnishings.

The property is now owned and operated by the gracious Hoffman family, who acquired it in 2002, adding the villa suites and completing renovations to the reception area, great room and terraces as well as upgrades to all rooms. In 2009, the Hoffmans added the private beach, and in 2012, Indigo restaurant was refurbished.

Featuring private verandas, the elegant rooms offer Egyptian cotton linens and sitting areas. All include free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs, as well as minibars and tea and coffeemaking facilities. Suites have iPod docks, Nespresso machines and rainfall showerheads. Villas include private plunge pools, and there's a historic house with a kitchen.

Premier Rooms: 535 square feet. The Premier Rooms offer an appealing blend of traditional and tropical design. The rooms are scattered around the resort in cottage style buildings with Garden View. The cool tiled floors are the perfect for going barefoot and feeling carefree. They have 1 King or 2 Twin Double Beds and open onto an outdoor terrace with chars and table overlooking the gardens. Spacious bathrooms with a bathtub. The ideal balance between open living and refined comfort.

Plantation Rooms: 540 square feet. The Plantation Rooms are a bit more spacious with outdoor verandas looking out torwards the ocean. Six Plantation Rooms were renovated by Martyne Kupciunas of Miami’s The Design Garden, before the season 2014-2015. Each guest room will sport its own distinctive accents and elements; complemented by a cool, grey palette with splashes of color including Trina Turk fine fabrics. The rooms have 4 metre high beamed ceilings, 1 King or 2 Twin Double Beds and they have either bathtub or rain shower.

Garden Suite: 790 square feet. Surrounded by tropical vegetation, the Garden Suite is all about nature – with fresh contemporary touches – and features a large terrace, interior sitting area with a wet bar and expansive floor-to-ceiling glass windows looking out to the islands beyond Nevis. The look is completed with a four-poster bed, gleaming bamboo floors and a bathroom with a rainfall shower. Added amenities include an iPod docking station and espresso machine.

Tamarind Villa: 1,472 square feet. This two-bedroom Villa has a more contemporary style with a private pool overlooking the Caribbean Sea. Each bedroom has an en suite bathroom with stunning views of Nevis Peak. The Tamarind Villa also has an iPod docking station, espresso machine and a flat-screen TV.

Little House: A two-bedroom, two-bath villa perfect for family and friends, this 100-year-old building evokes old world charm with decidedly modern touches, including a flat screen TV.
