It comes as no suprise to us that Barbados came out on top at ITB (a travel trade show) in Berlin as the travel destination that provides the most overall satisfaction to its visitors. Norstat a data collection agency announced that Barbados was the highest scoring destination from its annual Destination Satisfaction Index. Over 140 worlwide destinations were reviewed, with the evalutation taking into account over 20 factors including beaches, weather, culture and culinary offerings. 70,000 travellers were interviewed from over 24 markets around the world, making this survey extremely thorough and independent. 

Barbados has fabulous weather (the island's easterly position sees it outside of the hurricane belt), calm turquoise waters on the west coast contrasting the windswept rugged and wild east coast beaches. The culinary offering for such a small island is outstanding, restaurants like The Cliff and L'Acajou at Sandy Lane Hotel offer world class 5 star cuisine, whilst Oistins Fish Fry on a Friday night highlights the best of the island's culture and local dishes.
